Special Publications

At the beginning of the twentieth century, the publishing activity of the Natural History Museum – then the Museum of the Serbian Lands – began. From 1903, booklets were printed with texts about the Museum's collections or on natural history topics and findings about the fauna, flora and geology. Some of these contributions were originally published for the first time, while others were reprinted from other sources and republished as Museum editions. Most often they were reprinted from the journals of the time "Lovac", "Nastavnik" and "Prosvetni glasnik". In this way, valuable copies of scientific papers were made available to numerous Museum associates and interested researchers in the country and abroad. The first 25 such editions were not specifically marked, and they were numbered consecutively starting from the seventh.
